This...
(sorry that is the smallest I could get the diamond eternity band!)Ok so I feel like these days everyone is going for the diamond eternity band and I would be lying if I said I didn't want one of those! (Yes we still haven't bought bands, did I mention we're procrastinators??) At the same time I don't wear a lot of jewelry and I am as far from flashy as they come and I know that there will be times when I don't want to wear diamonds but will still want a ring. For instance I don't like to wear my engagement ring when I work out or when I lay by the pool. I've been considering getting a diamond eternity band and then a simple (cheap) white gold band. I've also been considering getting just the simple (cheap) white gold band and saving the diamond band for an christmas or anniversary.
So married bloggers... what does your wedding band look like? What was the reason you choose the band you did?
Plain band for me...though I REALLY WANT an eternity one. I say, splurge and get the flashy one :D
ReplyDeleteWell an eternity band traditionally (at least in the UK) is bought for the lady when she has the first child.Mwahx
ReplyDeleteMine is a 3/4 eternity band. So, it's not super flashy but it's got pave diamonds 3/4 of the way around.
ReplyDeleteIt matches my engagement ring! And, I just liked it! :)

I'm not married, though I'm more likely to choose a plain band. You can always add a diamond or two to it for anniversaries...maybe one at your first, two more for your fifth, etc...that might be a fun tradition?
ReplyDeletePersonally, I didn't go with the eternity band because it itched my fingers so badly!!! I did however do a bar set ring with seven diamonds across. I still think the plain band is classic though:)
ReplyDeleteMy band isn't an eternity band but does have diamonds that are inlaid and wraps around the sides of my finger. Personally if I were you I would start w/a plain and "upgrade" to an eternity for an anniversary or special occasion. I wanted a band for both sides but was told I had to wait for my second one... here's hoping someone gets a shiny birthday present in October! :) You can see my set here: http://s644.photobucket.com/albums/uu165/moogsie/rings/?action=view¤t=1610.jpg
ReplyDeleteI have a millennium band (diamonds 3/4 of the way around) and a plain band. My diamonds were loose after a shoddy resize, so I had to go band-less for two weeks while it was being repaired. I freaked about not having a wedding band, so the hubby surprised me with the thinnest yellow gold band. It's gorgeous and now I have something to wear when I want to leave the bling at home. But, well, let's be honest, over a year and a half later, I always wear the diamonds :)
ReplyDeleteyou can never go wrong with diamonds!! but I understand wanting to be unique too!
ReplyDeleteI like the diamonds one...
ReplyDeleteI love the diamond eternity band, but I didn't get it. My engagement diamond was painful enough when I work out. Plus, I was afraid to ruin it, because of all the gym time I do with my job. (That being said, as the only girl in my family, I inherit some purty awesome diamonds. So I'll get my fair share one day.)
ReplyDeleteBut if that's not the case for you, and you think you can protect it, go with the eternity.
Go for the eternity band! They really do look so pretty when they catch the light!
ReplyDeleteMine is sort of a combo between the two. I like both styles!
ReplyDeleteI think the eternity bands are pretty but I opted for a plain white slender gold band to go with my simple 1 carat round diamond engagement ring. It's simple and timeless. I think whatever you pick will be beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'd go for the diamonds! I'm planning on getting diamonds to match my engagement band.
