Last Friday Kyle got home early from his trip and we headed to the pool for the evening. We ended up having the baby pool all to ourselves and it was so much fun. These kids can be so crazy but so much fun.
After we got the kids to bed Kyle and I enjoyed some wine and grilled chicken kabobs on the deck.
Saturday we went over to a friend's house for a little birthday party and they had bunnies for the kids to pet. Miller loved them and thought they were "so cute and so soft." Matthew didn't quite get the concept and mostly just tried to grab them or swat at them.
I took this photo of Miller to send to Kyle's grandmother since she sent an early birthday gift and I feel like he looks like such a little kid. He will be three in a little over a week and I can't even believe it. He's still such a baby in so many ways and then in other ways I just see that little baby turning into a little boy. I cannot get over how fast time flies when you have kids.
These outfits arrived in the mail and I can't wait for photos with the boys in them next month!
Saturday night we headed out to a friend's surprise birthday party in the neighborhood. I didn't get any shots from the party but her husband put together a great party and the food was delicious. I wore my new Madewell one shoulder dress and I'm obsessed. I'm really hoping this trend makes a full comeback. So cute and flattering. I got tons of compliments on it.
Sunday we had another kids birthday party- we were definitely on the birthday party circuit this weekend! I did not get one picture of my kids but they were so exhausted and not in a very happy party mood by this party. After that we headed to my parents for some pool time and dinner.
On Monday Miller's new big boy bed arrived! The room still has a long way to go with decor but he is loving his new big bed and he's been sleeping in until after 6am which is such an improvement over 5-5:30am! I will share more pictures once we have the room complete.
We met with our builder last night and we have finally come up with what we think is our kitchen plan. I say think because we still need to put it into AutoCad with the designer and make sure all the measurements work and everything look right and makes sense for us. Follow along on Snapchat (@eastcoastnat) where I will try to share more with you on video and I'm hopefully heading to check out some appliances today or tomorrow.
I couldn't write this week and not acknowledge that yet another mass shooting has happened in America. I feel so sad, horrified, and just plain depressed for the family and loved ones of the victims in Orlando. I honestly don't even want to get into it right now since everything is so fueled with politics but I just have to say that we have to make a change. All these victims are someone's children, friend, father, mother, brother, cousin. When did it become okay in this country to act out in a violent way when you don't agree with something you see. Why do we let this keep happening? How can we make changes? Will I ever feel safe letting my children grow up in this world? What will I tell them about people?

Did you get Miller's bedspread at Target? That's where we got our guest room comforter and it looks exactly the same! Can't wait to see how it all comes together. Love the one shoulder dress!!
ReplyDeleteI love the blue and white for Miller's room! I'm so excited for you and your kitchen, too! Yay!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great time, but party weekend for sure! Right there with you with time flying by with little ones. Wish there was some magical way to make it all slow down. Your dress is amazing! And my heart still hurts for Orlando. I don't know what to tell my kids either or how to guide them through this world that doesn't seem to be getting any better :( Beautifully Candid
ReplyDeleteYour outfits for the boys are SO cute!! Perfect for photos. Love the one shouldered dress & hope those make a comeback. Good luck with the house design :)

Love your one shouldered dress! Also, we just redid our kitchen and we went with black stainless steel appliances. I wasn't sure how it was going to look, but I absolutely LOVE IT!!! It looks so crisp and clean. Just a suggestion if you are out and about looking! :)

I am with you on the events. Why do we sit back and do NOTHING when these shootings happen? Nothing. It's so freaking sad.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is so cute! And I adore the sailboats on your boys' little outfits too!
