Now that we've been in our house for a month I'm itching to start some projects! Never mind the fact that I haven't even finished unpacking and organizing some rooms, I want to start prettying up this space. All major projects are being held off until 2016 so I'm starting small and realistic.
The powder room.
While this isn't the most exciting place to decorate it is one of the spaces that most guests see when the visit so I want it to look good.
Here it is in it's current state:
Sorry for the awful iphone pics but I'm hoping that will make the final product look that much better ;) All the major elements and hardware are staying for now. While it isn't my favorite it's in good condition so it works for now. I'm hoping to paint the walls and cabinets and then add some new towels and art work. I really want to wallpaper in here but I'm going to hold off on that until we renovate it. So for now it's just paint. I haven't finalized any colors yet because I'm all over the place! Once I pull my mood board together I will share it with you all. Hoping to get started on it this weekend or next week.
Anyone have any good small space colors they love?

Eek! Can't wait to see what you do with it! I know it will look great! & I think when we finally redo our bathroom I'm going with a super light grey - sorry, I don't know paint color names! Lol!
ReplyDeleteThis looks almost identical to our small downstairs guest bath (the cabinets, that ugly counter top...the floor!). I like the light blue/seafoam green color. We used the Benjamin Moore color Quiet Moments for our upstairs guest bath with dark cabinets and a granite counter top and it looks awesome! I can show you some pics if you want :)
ReplyDeleteI also like a light-medium gray for the bathroom, especially since it's smaller. Don't go too dark or it'll make it feel even smaller.
The powder room in my house is my least favorite room but it's the one I really want to do re do! I want to wallpaper it since it's so small but Theo has some beef with wallpaper and won't let me do it. I found a lot of great ideas on Pinterest and Houzz!
ReplyDeleteAlly- Life as I know it
i cant wait to see the after photos!! i love our downstairs powder room -- we used Benjamin Moore Nantucket Fog. xo jillian - cornflake dreams

ReplyDeleteThat powder room has lots of potential, can't wait to see what you do with it!! Your reno plan sounds like ours, its just too hard to get it together this year but I do want to paint because I can't stand all of the tan walls!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the mood board!!!! So nice to be back reading blog posts!!! Congrats Annie and family, girls are just so fun!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you do! I'm also a huge fan of wallpaper in a powder room but have yet to actually do it!
ReplyDeleteLove home projects! Can't wait to see the results! I'm very into the gray/blue modern neutrals right now.

You're going to make it look great! Paint will completely freshen it up!
ReplyDeleteThe guest bathroom was one of the first things we redid when we moved into our house! Since it's so small it was relatively easy and cheap to do and it was so much fun to see the finished product! Can't wait to see what you do with this one!
ReplyDeleteYour have seen my powder room, it is TINY and painted red and I love it every time I walk in...and so does everyone else who goes in there! Also, have the same faucet in that bathroom.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to follow along! I have two bathrooms I'd love to spruce up too!
