If only where I blogged was this pretty!

I was nominated by my lovely co-host Annie at Home of Malones to answer some questions for the Sisterhood of World Bloggers Award.  Since I have some new readers I thought it would be so fun play along.

Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging at the end of 2008 right before I got engaged. I had started reading blogs a few months earlier and thought it would be fun to start one! I've been on and off since then but I still love doing it. Blogging has changed so drastically in the past 7 years. Back in the early days everyone had the same Blogger lay out in different colors  and you always tried to make sure you didn't copy anyone else's colors!

Has blogging created friendships for you?
Yes I have met so many wonderful people through blogging and I've been lucky enough to turn some of them into real life friends.  It's always funny when we tell people how we met.

What is your number one tip for blogging?
Stay true to yourself!! Do it because you love it and if you make  money along the way woohoo! Never feel pressure from your readers either. If you don't feel comfortable sharing something about your life feel free to leave it out. You don't have to compromise yourself to have a good blog.

What is your favorite kind of blog post to write and read?
I love writing and reading fashion and interior design posts. Since becoming a mom I feel like most of my days revolve around babies, sleep, no sleep, spit up, tantrums, potty training, schedules, menus, poop and more poop so I love having this outlet to talk about frivolous things that I love.

Is it hard to keep up with blogging and your regular every day life?
Yes! Since having two kids I find it almost impossible to find time to blog. My days are so long sometimes that the last thing I want to do is write here when I could  be mindlessly watching something on Bravo but I try to carve out the time for 3-4  posts per week because I miss it when I don't.  I also hate that I barely have time to read blogs anymore. I'm trying my best to get back into a routine where I can do both.

Have you met any bloggers you met through here?
Yes I've met MCW from Saving the Best for Last and Miss Mindless who used to have blog back in the day. I'm lucky enough to call both of them friends now :) I've also met Meg from Meg Biram Blog and Alissa from Naturally Me blog two local DC bloggers.

How much time do you spend blogging?
This depends on the day. I would say it takes me 2 hours to get a post up, depending on what type of post it is and I try to spend 30mins to an hour catching up on blogs so maybe 3-4 hours on the days I do blog.

What is your most popular blog post?
My most popular post is my One and Two month Favorites that I wrote after Miller was born! All of these items are still my favorites to this day and I recommend them to all my friends.

What is your favorite post on your blog?
This is a tough one! I'm not sure I have a favorite post.  I think my posts announcing both my babies births and my wedding post would be favorites.

I nominate:
Lindsay at Pink and Fabulous
Priscilla at The Best Laid Plans
MCW at Saving the Best for Last
Lindsay at Lovely Life Styling
Kristen at Playground Prepster
Emily at Eloquently Emily
Liz Jo at Sundays with Sophie

  5. I can't believe you've been blogging for 7 years! You're a pro :)

I 1000% agree with your blogging tip, definitely staying true to yourself.

And I just have one kid and it's tough blogging, reading, commenting. I don't know how you do it with two! Always love reading your posts. Especially the ones about Matthew and Miller because they're so helpful for when I'm having issues with Sophie or just nice to know that someone else is dealing with a crazy toddler.

  11. I love these questionnaires! Now I want to go back through your archives to learn more! I love the way blogging can bring people together. Parenting can be so isolating, especially if you stay at home (which is a term I hate, because really how much do you actually stay at home :) ). So fun, I can't wait to participate!
