My birthday was February 8th and we celebrated that Saturday night with dinner out with my parents and sister and brother in law. It was a nice low key night and exactly what I needed. After dinner we went back to my parents where we proceeded to stay up late drinking and playing Heads Up, which is a blast if you haven't played yet.

A decent family picture with no tears!!
Miller's new "cheeee" face as he says
I really didn't want anything fancy for my birthday but my family went ahead and surprised me by getting something that has been on my wishlist for years! I was so shocked and feel so touched that despite saying I only wanted practical gifts they still all pitched it and got me something special.
I know I will have this classic jacket for many many years.
This past weekend was Valentine's day and Matthew's Baptism. Valentine's day was really low key for us and we celebrated with a home made dinner of spaghetti squash with shrimp and lobster followed by some chocolate heart cake.
Miller helped me bake and decorate the cake. He's very into cooking/helping me these days.

Ignore our ugly temporary rug- still can't decide what I want to get next to replace our navy blue one.
We got a short little snow storm on Saturday night that dumped about 2 inches of snow on us and took a tree down in our yard but thankfully the tree missed our house and the snow did not impact Matthew's baptism on Sunday.
It was quite chilly but we were still able to enjoy Matthew's baptism and little party at our house. Miller was in an awful mood and screamed for most of the baptism but calmed down once we got home. I think he was very overwhelmed with Kyle's parents and brothers being in town for the day and just couldn't adjust to the strangers.
After a brief stint outside since it was only 20 degrees we came in for some hot chocolate and it's just as good as I remember. I probably haven't had hot chocolate in 10 years or more but I still love the Swiss Miss Marshmallow lovers
