1. Homemade Silver Cleaner
One of my favorite silver necklaces that I was dying to wear had become tarnished. The idea of driving to the grocery store just to get silver cleaner was out of the question so I did what I always do- I googled it! Low and behold there is a super easy and free way to clean silver jewelry.
I followed these directions here and listed them below. I only soaked mine for 10 minutes because it wasn't too tarnished.
Ingredients
for Homemade Silver Cleaner:
- 1 quart of hot water
- 1 tablespoon of baking soda
- 1 sheet of aluminum foil
- non-aluminum dish
Instructions
for Making Homemade Silver Cleaner:
- Line bottom of non-aluminum dish with a sheet of aluminum foil
- Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda into a quart of hot water
- Soak for a half hour — time may vary depending on degree of tarnish
- Buff with clean, dry cloth
2. Tuffed Ottoman from Overstock
We're in the process of decorating our basement which is going to be a tv room/playroom so I'm looking for an ottoman to use down there. I am leaning toward this one from Overstock because it's cheap and I that way I won't get upset if it gets ruined by my husband, the dog, or Miller.
Does anyone have experience ordering furniture from Overstock.com? I've never done it before but a lot of people love it and have great experience.
3. Seche Vite Fast Drying Top Coat
I'm 95% sure I've blogged about this before but this is hands down the best top coat ever. I refuse to pay for manicures because they wear off in 3 days so I do all my own manicures and with this top coat they will last a week. Not only that your nails are completely dry in 5 minutes!! You really can't beat that.
4. Stay Dry Bath Apron and Towel
5. Amazon Prime
I signed up for a trial and now I'm sold. The one or two day free shipping is amazing. I pretty much try to order anything I possibly can off Amazon now because I'm so addicted.
I love that apron/towel idea. I always get soaked at bathtime because Hunter loves to splash!
ReplyDeleteOooh! Let everyone know if you order that ottoman. I have been one like that too. (I have only ordered a light fixture from there but it was perfect)
ReplyDeleteLove that ottoman. Not sure on the overstock price but I've seen one very similar at Target online for a steal. I ordered our Serta mattress set from Overstock. I was very happy with the product but they scheduled our delivrery window from 6-7am on a Saturday (which came in a giant delivery truck rumbling up our street). Not cool. When I complained to overstock all i got was a form reply email.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the notes on cleaning jewelry. I have plenty of pieces that are looking tarnished...this is perfect! Love the ottoman. I'm still searching for one for our living room area.
ReplyDeleteAmazon Prime is life changing! So worth it! Have a great weekend! -M
ReplyDeleteWe have had Amazon Prime for abut four years now and it is so worth it! With all of the holiday shopping I do on Amazon, Prime more than pays for itself!
ReplyDeleteAnd I think I might need that ottoman for my family room make-over.
Just found your blog through 5 on Friday! Amazon Prime is my lifesaver! I work retail and NEVER have time to get 99% of the things that I need on a daily basis. I split the membership with my Mama and literally have everything sent to my house.. coffee, shampoo, nail polish, gifts. The list goes on and on. Total game changer!
ReplyDeleteAlso, that ottoman is perfect!

I have a leather ottoman that I ordered from Overstock 7 years ago and it's still in great condition.
ReplyDeleteI am wanting the ottoman you have listed above for another space in our home. Can't wait to hear how you like it.
That apron is so awesome! I feel like I took a bath myself every time I bathe the kids. I also don't think I could live without Prime!
ReplyDeleteI seriously use Amazon for everything! I've heard really great things about Overstock but I've never ordered furniture from them. Have you heard of Mayfair? They are good and I've ordered from them.
